the BIG surprise

the first of last week my husband told me that he had a big surprise for me on friday. so all that week he kept building me up for this surprise. come friday we had bad storms and there was one time where he told me that we just couldn't go because of the rain. then within an hour the skies cleared and plans were back on. he told me that when i walked outside and saw what was in the driveway my jaw would drop. so i got ready and was waiting around for robert to get home. he pulled up and honked, i walked outside and saw a corvette sitting in our drive way. yes, my jaw dropped, my first thoughts were, is this mine? did he buy this for me? then reality hit me and i remembered i had kids and this car had no back seats. so come to find out, robert knows this guy who owned the car and told robert to take it and have fun. we went back in time about 10 years. we felt like we were in school again. we went to eat, then just drove around town. we had a great time. and just like cinderella, my corvette turned back into a chevy avalanche. robert said that it would be something that i would never forget, and he was exactly right. i love my husband!!!

a busy summer already

Tulsa Vacation

to start off luke's summer break we all went to tulsa. we went to big spalsh and to the oklahoma aquarium. seeing the stingrays reminded us of our cruise we took last year. we had a great time that was very much needed. we baked in the sun at big spalsh then relaxed back at the hotel. the boys got a huge kick out of the video games we had in our room and we all enjoyed the hot tub. i think i might have robert talked into getting one. the boys loved seeing all the underwater creatures. this will hopefully just be the start of a very exciting summer.

Memorial Day Weekend

We took our second camping trip of the summer. we went to dam site park this time. it started out almost not finding a camping spot. but we finally did after squeezing into some tight places with a 30ft camper. we had a good couple of days until.......we had to go to the emergency room!!!! here is how the story goes. saturday morning we get finished with breakfast and luke is pushing logan in the hammock. we see that luke is getting a little carried away, so we ask luke to not push logan so high because he might fall out. well i don't know if luke didn't mean to OR if he wanted to see little bro fall out. anyway, robert and i turn our backs, we hear a thud, and see logan laying on the ground. robert drops everything in his hands, runs over to logan and has a melt down. logan had indeed fell out of the hammock with some help from big bro and hit his chin on a railroad tie, busting it wide open. luckily the E.R. was 5 minutes away and luckily he didn't get stitches (which saved us some money). the attending doctor just glued him right up. and we were off camping again. that was the highlight of our memorial day weekend.

Pryor Family Reunion 2009

we traveled to Tishomingo, ok to have our family reunion on my dad's side. i got to see several family that i haven't seen in years. i expected everyone to look the same as i remembered as a kid, but soon realized that people change as they get older. why don't things stay the way that you remember them as a child? like take for instance, when i go to "tish" i always like to drive by my old house. well this time it was different, it was sad. robert and i loaded up the boys and headed off down broadway, and soon things started looking different, i could of swarn that i used to live on broadway. we had to drive around a couple of blocks to realize that my old house had been bull-dozed down and replaced with a school gym. i was devestated. how could this happen? i kept asking robert. he repsonded LIFE happened. i expected that house to be there forever. that's where i used to find horny toads, that's where i would walk to my grandpa's and pick wild strawberries, it's where i learned to ride my bike, and learned to tie my shoes, i even remember getting stung by a bee there. i wanted so badly to show the boys "mama's old house". now i never will. but the stories is what counts. i have wonderful stories that i get to pass on.

MAY 26, 2009

my first born graduated kindergarten. wow!! time has totally flew by. from diapers and bottles to riding bikes with no training wheels and girlfriends. yep, he's growing up right before my eyes. it was exciting for all of us. my mom came to watch and we celebrated afterwards. took plenty of pictures. it was an adorable ceremony. the theme was "from caterpillars to butterflies" which is so appropriate because luke loves them both. so next year, it is off to first grade. bigger numbers and bigger words.

summer time

one of my favorite things about this time of year is the cook-outs. we have been doing alot of grilling already. tonight robert had to work alittle late, so i grilled some hamburgers for the boys and me, then we had some ice cream. afterwards, i sat on the back patio and watched the boys play around. the weather couldn't be more perfect. i love to watch the boys play together. i get this certain feeling that i have the perfect life. i know that i have the best little boys in the whole world. these are the times that i hope the boys remember for the rest of their life. i know i will.

anniversary dinner outcome

i am happy to say that, everything turned out great. our usual babysitter decided she wanted some extra cash, and decided to change her plans. i figure it was probably God teaching me a lesson to be content with things not always going my way, because just when i excepted the fact that we wouldn't be going to dinner, plans turned around. so robert and i went to north little rock and ate at red lobster, it wasn't the place we decided to go in the first place, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. afterwards we browsed around acadamy then headed home.

disadvantages of not having mom around

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY #8

i know i shouldn't always get upset when things don't work out my way, in the back of my mind i know that there are certain reasons why things don't happen the way i would like for them to. but isn't it just in our human nature to get upset? anyway, today is mine and robert's 8 year anniversary, and he wants to go to little rock and have a nice dinner at this resturaunt we found that has a nice romantic setting and has great food. but i am not having any luck finding a baby sitter. and it just makes me sit back and realize, if i lived near my mom still, she would be there for me in a heart beat. yea, i guess we could go on a different day, but it just seems more like its an anniversary dinner if you actually go on your anniversary, verses if you wait a couple days, it just seems like another usual dinner at a resturant. oh well, we will see what happens.

our newest addition

we finally got daddy talked into getting a puppy. and i think robert enjoys her more than we do. her name is darla. she is chocolate lab, mixed with a bit of something else, so we were told. by looking at her you would think she was full-blood. the boys lover her and she loves the boys, and she loves to chew on everything besides her "chew" toys. the guys made her the best dog house i had ever seen. this dog house even has shingles on it. i wonder if she is a bit spoiled yet?!!

quite an experience

last weekend, my good friend from high school, chanelle got married. on the invitation it said that the wedding would be held at a greek orthodox church. my first thought was that maybe they decided to have it there because it was a fancy church or something of the sorts, well shortly after the ceremony started my first thought proved to be wrong. it was actually being held at a greek orthodox church because well........ it was indeed a GREEK wedding!! it was nothing like i had ever been to. it was a great experience to say the least. it was chanelle all the way, from her dress to the decorations, from the greek traditions to the food. if it were to have been any other way, it would not of been "chanelle".
